updates - march 2011

Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20

For some time we have been praying about another area, about 3 hours from where we are now, that God has given us a desire to reach. We have been considering relocating to this area in order to reach out into the surrounding villages. At this time however, God seems to be saying “wait”. Therefore, we are going to begin travelling there every other week, staying about four days to minister in these villages and begin the training of some of the young men for the ministry. In February, I was able to go up to the villages of Belfast and Juistica to help dig a foundation for a church building and help with some other projects as well. We have visited and preached in these villages before and it was good to be able to fellowship and encourage the pastors and church members in these villages. Many times in our lives, we do not see the whole picture, and God just simply asks that we step out by faith and do the work He shows us. We would ask that you would earnestly pray that we would know God’s leading in our lives and that we would have the faith to do the next step that God leads us to take.

The ministries that have been started in Clewer are going well. God is opening doors to reach into the schools in ways I could never have imagined. A few weeks ago, I received a call from a student that formerly attended one of the high schools where I preach. She had been transferred to a new school and was wondering if I would be willing to come and preach at her new school. A few days later I spoke with a principal at a different high school and was asked if I would be interested in counseling and ministering in the school (he had been told about the work that I was doing in other schools by one of the teachers). As I listened to what the principal was saying and the opportunities that were being offered, I sat there thinking “Only God could open these doors”. Plans are still being made to coordinate times with these schools, but the door has been opened by God and the opportunity to share the Gospel is great. Recently, I was able to show a 30 minute DVD that deals with Creation and Atheism and also gives a clear and thorough presentation of the Gospel to over 500 students, teachers and staff of one school. God is doing some great things in the lives of many of the students and their eyes are being opened to the truth after being blinded by false religions and philosophies. Please continue to pray for this ministry as weekly I have students come to me with serious questions about salvation, the Bible and living a holy life. In our last update I mentioned three young men: Vusi, Glen, and Raymond. These young men are such a blessing to watch as they grasp the teachings of God’s Word and then apply them in their lives. They have been bringing friends and relatives to church as well as witnessing at school and taking a stand for right. They still face many struggles and trials as Satan attacks their growth. Please continue to pray for them.

Our family is doing well and we are so grateful for all God has done for us. He daily provides our needs and gives us the health and strength to do the work He has called us to do. The boys are growing so quickly and are such a blessing to our life. Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support. We truly are blessed with wonderful friends and family and we love you all very much. Stay faithful until the Lord returns!

Gratefully serving the Saviour,

Jeremy, Rebekah, Titus & Tanner

prayer requests

1. Jeremy Johnson suffered with appendicitus in the summer of 2010. Pray that he is healed completely and that the whole family will stya healthy in 2011.

2. Pray for Solid Rock Baptist Church and Pastor Dlamini. Satan has been attacking the young people of the church and many have fallen prey to his attack. Please pray that we would have wisdom and discernment in teaching them that God’s way is always the
best way and that the world has nothing to offer but sorrow and misery.

3. Pray for our home church, People’s Baptist Church in Kelowna, BC. After eighteen years of faithful service, our Pastor, Claude Madle, feels that God is calling him and his family into another area of ministry. Pray that God will give our church family wisdom and strength as they seek God’s leading regarding a new pastor.

4. Pray for the continued health and safety of our family.

5. Pray for the outreach in schools & surrounding areas.

6. Pray that we will have wisdom & understanding in the ministry.

7. Pray for Vusi, Glen, & Raymond – young men
desiring to be in the ministry.
